Short Description of Instrument
The Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) is a widely used, brief, and self-reported measure used for the screening and diagnosis of female sexual function. The 6-domain structure covers desire, subjective arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction, and pain through 19 questions. It has been used in numerous studies evaluating sexual dysfunction in women and has been translated in over 30 languages.
Scoring and Psychometric Properties
Scoring: Questions are scored from 0-5 or 1-5. Total score ranges from 2 to 36. Domain scores and the total score are calculated using a computational formula provided in the index scoring appendix.
 
Psychometric Properties: Reliability and validity have been assessed. Overall test-retest reliability coefficients demonstrated to be high for each of the individual domains and a high degree of internal consistency has been observed. Good construct validity demonstrated.
Rationale/Justification
Strengths: Globally recognized and commonly used scale
 
Weaknesses: Has not been validated in PD, however, has been used in different studies evaluating sexual symptoms in PD (Raciti et al., 2020; Varanda et al., 2016; Vela-Desojo et al., 2020)
